Restaurant IT

POS networks, PCI compliance, and multi-location IT for NYC and NJ restaurants. Single concept, full-service, QSR, and ghost kitchens.

Common challenges

  • POS uptime — every minute of downtime is lost revenue
  • PCI-DSS compliance across cardholder data environment
  • Wi-Fi for guests separated from POS network
  • Multi-location consistency at low operational cost
  • Kitchen display systems, online ordering integrations, third-party delivery

How we solve them

  • PCI-segmented network with documented scope
  • Redundant internet with automatic LTE failover
  • Centrally managed Wi-Fi with separate guest and POS SSIDs
  • 24/7 monitoring with on-call response during service hours
  • Multi-location standardized stack for repeatability

Compliance support

  • PCI-DSS v4.0
  • State and local sanitation IT requirements (where applicable)

We know what happens at 7:42 PM on a Friday

The POS is down, the line is out the door, and the corporate hotline is closed. That call goes to a senior engineer at Sage Solutions, not a ticket queue. For our restaurant clients, on-call coverage tracks service hours — not standard 9-to-5 — because that is when restaurants actually need IT to work. Reliable structured cabling and Wi-Fi are the foundation everything else sits on.

Stacks we support

POS: Toast, Square, Clover, Lightspeed, Aloha, Micros, Touchbistro. KDS: Toast KDS, Fresh KDS, custom screens. Online ordering: Toast Now, Olo, ChowNow, direct-to-Shopify. Third-party delivery integrations: DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub via middleware. Music and signage: Pandora for Business, custom Sonos, digital menu boards. Reservations: OpenTable, Resy, SevenRooms.

PCI in plain English

PCI-DSS requires that cardholder data flows through a segmented, monitored network with controlled access. Our cybersecurity team delivers the documented scope, the network design, the change controls, and the quarterly external scan coordination. Your QSA still has to assess — we make sure they have nothing to write up. Security cameras and VoIP phone systems are scoped separately and deployed on their own VLANs so they stay out of PCI scope.

  • Cybersecurity — PCI-DSS scope reduction, endpoint protection, and scan coordination
  • VoIP — multi-location phone systems with on-hold music and reservations routing
  • Structured Cabling — clean POS, KDS, and AP runs for new buildouts and renovations
  • Wi-Fi Engineering — separate guest and POS SSIDs with proper coverage
  • Security Cameras — kitchen, dining room, and entrance camera systems
